Community Guidelines
Last updated: August 2, 2026
These Guidelines describe the behavior we expect from everyone using Envvite — hosts, co-hosts, coordinators, and guests. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, which are the binding legal terms; this page explains the same expectations in plain language, with examples specific to how Envvite is actually used.
The basic idea
Envvite exists to help people plan and enjoy real gatherings — birthdays, weddings, potlucks, kids' parties, and everything in between. Every guideline below comes back to one idea: treat the people in your event's guest list, chat, and comments the way you'd want to be treated at an actual party.
For hosts and co-hosts
- Only invite people you actually intend to host, and only use the contact details you collect through Envvite for that specific event.
- Keep your event's title, description, and cover image appropriate for the audience you're inviting — including any kids who might see it on a guest's device.
- Use the guest list, coordinator chat, and RSVP data you can see for running your event — not for anything unrelated to it.
- If someone in your event isn't following these Guidelines, you can remove them from the guest list or delete their comments/messages in your event — see our Content Moderation Policy for how that works.
For guests
- RSVP honestly — hosts plan food, seating, and budget around your response.
- Keep comments, chat messages, and guestbook photos relevant and respectful to the event and the people in it.
- Don't share a private event's details, guest list, or join code with people the host didn't intend to invite.
- Respect a host's decision if they remove you from an event or close an invitation.
Not okay, for anyone
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeted abuse of another user.
- Impersonating another person, or creating an event or account under a false identity to deceive guests.
- Posting sexual, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content in a chat, comment, or photo — especially in events with a kids'-party theme, where children may be present or may see the content.
- Spam, scams, unsolicited marketing, or using an event's guest list to build a separate contact list without consent.
- Anything that would violate our Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service.
What happens if these aren't followed
Within a single event, the host/co-hosts can remove a guest or delete a comment/message. For anything broader — repeated abuse, content that violates these Guidelines across events, or a report we receive directly — see our Content Moderation Policy for how we review and act on it, including account suspension for serious or repeated violations.
Reporting a concern
If something you've seen on Envvite doesn't belong here, tell the event's host if it's something they can act on directly (like a comment), or email us at privacy@envvite.com with a description and, if possible, a link or screenshot. See our Child Safety Policy for how to report anything involving a child's safety specifically.
