Acceptable Use Policy

This expands on Section 7 of our Terms of Service, which is the binding agreement — this page just spells out, with more detail, what counts as a violation. See our Community Guidelines for the same ideas in a friendlier, example-driven form.

You agree not to

• Spam or unsolicited marketing — using an event's guest list, chat, or comments to send unrelated promotional messages, or importing contacts to build a marketing list without their consent.
• Harass or harm others — threats, hate speech, targeted harassment, or content meant to demean or intimidate another user.
• Impersonate — creating an account, event, or message that falsely represents you as someone else, or as affiliated with Envvite.
• Access what isn't yours — attempting to view or modify another account's data, another host's private event details, or a guest list you weren't invited to see.
• Interfere with the Service — attempting to disrupt Envvite's normal operation, including excessive automated requests, scraping, reverse-engineering the app, or attempting to bypass Firestore security rules or authentication.
• Upload unlawful content — anything illegal, infringing, sexually exploitative of a minor, or that promotes violence.
• Misuse invite/join codes — sharing a private event's join code or invite link with people the host didn't intend to invite, or using automated tools to guess/enumerate codes.
• Circumvent account controls — creating multiple accounts to evade a suspension, or re-registering after being removed from an event for a Guidelines violation.

Enforcement

Within a single event, hosts/co-hosts can remove a guest or delete their content directly. For violations we become aware of more broadly, see our Content Moderation Policy — outcomes range from content removal to account suspension, depending on severity.
