SMS/Text Messaging Terms
Last updated: August 26, 2026
This page explains how Envvite uses text messages, separately from the general Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, since SMS has its own consent and opt-out rules under U.S. law. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
1. What SMS Envvite sends
Envvite sends text messages for three purposes only — none are unsolicited marketing:
- Event invitations — an RSVP link, sent when a host adds you to a guest list by phone number instead of email.
- Event reminders — sent the day before and the morning of an event you RSVP'd yes to.
- Account verification / two-factor codes — one-time passcodes for phone-number signup, login, and optional SMS two-factor authentication.
Envvite does not send SMS marketing today. Message frequency varies with your activity — typically a handful of messages around an event you host or attend, plus one verification code per signup or login attempt. Message and data rates may apply.
2. How consent works
If you sign up with a phone number or turn on SMS two-factor authentication, you're providing your own number directly and consenting to the verification/account-security texts above.
If you receive an invitation or reminder text, a host who has your number on file added you to their guest list — you didn't text a keyword or fill out a form to opt in yourself. Responsibility for having a lawful basis to give Envvite your number sits with that host, not Envvite — see our Terms of Service for the certification every host makes before sending an invitation.
Envvite does not run a "text KEYWORD to opt in" marketing campaign. The standard carrier-default keywords below still work if you text them to an Envvite-associated number, even though we don't promote them as a way to join anything.
3. Who delivers the message
Envvite sends SMS through Telnyx or Twilio — which one handles a given message depends on the country associated with the event. Both only ever receive what's needed to deliver that specific message. See our Privacy Policy for how your number is (and isn't) shared.
4. How to opt out (STOP)
Reply STOP to any Envvite text at any time to opt out of future messages of that type. You'll receive one final confirmation text. Opting out of invitation/reminder texts doesn't opt you out of a one-time verification code you separately request later.
You can also opt out without texting anything: guests can email privacy@envvite.com to be removed from a host's guest list — no Envvite account required. Account holders can turn off SMS two-factor authentication from Profile, or delete their account entirely.
5. Help
Reply HELP to any Envvite text for support, or contact support@envvite.com. Standard message-and-data rates apply to STOP and HELP replies, same as any other text.
6. Marketing SMS (not currently offered)
Envvite does not currently send marketing or promotional SMS. If that changes, consent for it will be collected through a separate, clearly labeled opt-in — never bundled into account signup or event-related consent — and this page will be updated first.
7. Carrier disclaimer
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Not all phone numbers or carriers may be supported.
8. Changes
We'll update the date at the top of this page when these Terms change, and post a notice in the app for material changes.
9. Contact
Bavishni LLC — support@envvite.com (general questions), privacy@envvite.com (opt-out or data requests from a guest with no account).
